LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Polk County authorities say two Lakeland men accused of running a cockfighting operation are now facing charges. Investigators think more than 100 roosters were involved in Lao Her and Sang Thao's operation. Thao and Her are facing charges of felony baiting or fighting animals. According to records, the pair was released Saturday after posting $1,000 bail. The Sheriff's Office said deputies were acting on a tip when they went to Her's home with a search warrant Friday. Authorities seized birds and found cockfighting videotapes. Her told authorities that he owned 70 of the birds, and said the rest belonged to Thao.
